On the first week of every month, Samsung usually releases its monthly security patch details and that for the month of October has been released. Having detailed the security patch today, the security maintenance for different flagship models will be unveiled soon. In Samsung’s latest release, 215 weaknesses which were identified on the Android operating system were fixed.
Samsung also fixed some issues that it found on its own software in the October 2017 security patch. Six of these issues were identified but not all of them were detailed. Well, most of these updates especially those from Samsung has to be handled with discretion because it may take a while for this update to get to every compatible device. Customer prior knowledge of these fixed issues may cause some sort of disturbance amongst users.
Usually, these updates flush down from the flagship devices to the low-end devices thus we expect Samsung’s flagship smartphones like the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus to receive this update imminently while smartphones like Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy A5 (2017) will closely follow. The South Korean tech giant has been so busy with fixing the treat from BlueBorne and just recently it released the update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in Europe. However, it still managed to release the September and October 2017 patch.
