OnePlus 5 stocks dry up across markets, discontinuation imminent?

OnePlus 5

OnePlus pulled off a OnePlus by announcing an incremental update to the OnePlus 3 last year less than 6 months since its launch in the OnePlus 3T. If signals are to be understood, something similar might be in the offing this time around, too.

The OnePlus 5 is out of stock pretty much everywhere in the world. The OnePlus 5 is the most expensive phone the company has sold, and according to insiders, the phone sold better than the company projected (or hoped for).

India is the only market where the OnePlus 5 is still in stock. According to reports, India happens to be one of the biggest markets for OnePlus (if not the biggest).

Gizchina News of the week

For your information, the OnePlus 5 was announced in June this year, with events on three successive days for the international, China and India markets.

Word is that there’s going to be a OnePlus 5T next month, which will feature an 18:9 screen among other features. If that does happen, it makes no sense to have the OnePlus 5 selling as well — which is perhaps what is about to happen.

Most likely a OP5T based on the Oppo F5 that is set to launch.

Most indians have to work half an year to buy a O5. Assuming they don’t spend their wage elsewhere.

Interesting observation. the only thing you seem to have missed is the concept of median.
