First Nokia 7 Photo Samples pops out and shows ZEISS Power

Today, October 19, was the day that HMD decided to unveil its newest handset, the Nokia 7. The devices itself has specs that puts it in the mid-range “flagship” category. But the more interesting thing to see are the ZEISS lenses making a first appearance in a device of this category.

HMD Global teases Nokia 7, as an midrange phone with a premium build quality. The mix of alloy borders with a glossy back, gives a nice impression judging by some early hands-on pictures that popped out.

Apart from the fingerprint magnet that this back seems to be, Nokia 7 brings a more refined design when compared to its spiritual predecessor the Nokia 6.

The biggest appeal in Nokia 7 probably is the camera capabilities. We have a 16MP sensor with ZEISS lens and an f/1.8 aperture. For Selfie enthusiasts there is also a 5MP front shooter with 1.4um pixels and an f/2.0 aperture. We got plenty of photos below, where we can judge the main camera quality.

Judging by the pictures, the 16MP ZEISS sensor did a great job in the light environment. However those definitely aren’t the better pictures we’ve saw on this price segment and its power in darker scenarios remains to be tested.

The Nokia 7 is horsened by Snapdragon 630 paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of Storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The device comes with a 5.2-inch LCD IPS FHD display protected by the corning gorilla glass 3. We also have a rear-mounted Fingerprint scanner just below the 16MP ZEISS Camera. Keeping the lights on we have an 3000mAh battery with Fast charge technology via an USB-C port.

The Nokia 7 will be available in China from October 24. The 4GB/64GB variant will come for 2,499 Yuan ($377), while the 6GB/128GB model will retail for 2,699 Yuan ($407). The device is definitely costlier than some other devices on this price segment, however we still have to wait and see how it performs considering the big sales achieved by HMD in previous releases from this new Nokia phase.
