Galaxy S9 design now leaks in 360-degree HD video, shows curved display

A high-res render of the Galaxy S9/S9 + started doing the rounds 2 days back. The source of the pics being an authentic leakster also allowed the images to create a lot of buzz. One of the main talking points of the image were the seemingly-thick bezels on the sides. Even compared to the Galaxy S8, they undeniably appeared to have more heft. Also, the image didn’t show off any prominent curves on the edges of the Galaxy S9. All this led to questions of the authenticity of the leak. For some, it was a new Galaxy S9 design with thicker side bezels, which is very unlikely.

Gizchina News of the week

Whatever, the case, a new CAD-based 360-degree video of the Galaxy S9 has appeared clearing the air. The footage shows the curves on the edges which weren’t that much visible in the renders. Although the source of the video footage and the renders are the same, the new leak is more in line with recent leaks and info. Thus, the notion that Samsung might ditch curved screens is certainly put to rest. Even though, the video doesn’t show any bezels, we’re pretty much sure thicker bezels would be a step back for the Korean brand. Therefore the company wouldn’t go for such a design change.

Apart from that, the 360-degree video also brings in to plain sight the new placement of the fingerprint sensor. A very welcome change, of course. There’s a still Bixby button on the handset if you’ve been wondering.

For rest of the specs, we’ll leave a link to the original render. The Galaxy S9 is slated to be star of the MWC event and will be shown off on February 25th.
