OnePlus 6 leaked with woodgrain finish

Will we see a return to form from OnePlus?

OnePlus were once known as the brave and unique company of the bunch. They would do things that other companies wouldn’t dare to even attempt. The company’s many controversial statements and brilliant ideas only made that image more prominent. Yet eventually, the proud and bold company settled and became much more tame. We haven’t seen anything really all that intriguing from OnePlus since the OnePlus 3.

Now however, we’ve got an alleged image of the OnePlus 6, and it harkens back to the creative OnePlus days. The leak shows a device meant to be the OnePlus 6 with a woodgrain finish on its rear, reminiscent of the Styleswap covers OnePlus were known for. There aren’t any other leaks as of yet, and the authenticity of this image is somewhat spotty. Still, we’d love to seeĀ  return to form for OnePlus after a few years of uninspired releases.

We’ve also got to wonder how this will work in the grand scheme of things.Ā Perhaps OnePlus will have more than one variant of the device with different textures on the back. Or perhaps we’ll see the return of StyleSwap covers, now that’d be interesting. Other things to note from the leak are the USB-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and mono speaker. Not much to really see here, though we’d like the 3.5mm headphone jack to be real.

What are your thoughts on this leak and what it could mean? Does OnePlus want to be more like their old selves, or is this just another one of their simple ideas to boost sales? Can the OnePlus 6 keep up with competition like the Mi Mix 2S and Huawei P20 Pro? Tell us what you think down in the comments section below.
