After announcing a flagship smartphone for the first half of 2018, Xiaomi unleashed another astonishing product. The Xiaomi Gaming Laptop was the next model we saw. Actually, the manufacturer continues the no-logo appearance. But Xiaomi laptops are quite powerful unlike the modest and minimalistic design outside.
The all-metal fuselage thickness is 20.9mm only. This is one of the thinnest laptops if taking into account we are dealing with a gaming notebook, but it weighs 2.7kg. The keyboard is backlit. It consists of four parts. There are also 5 programmable gaming keys to make your gaming experience even more comfortable.
Of course, it sports a large screen at 15.6 inches and with ultra-narrow bezels. The display has a wide 72% NTSC color gamut and 178-degree wide viewing angle. You can connect it to two other 4K external monitors for an ultimate gaming experience. The next required feature is the excellent sound performance. The Xiaomi Gaming Laptop comes with 2x3W speakers supporting world premiere Dolby Panorama Sound.
Under the hood, it carries an Intel’s 7th generation Core i5/i7 processor paired with a GeForce GTX1050Ti/GTX1060 graphics, 8GB/16GB DDR4 RAM, and 256GB SSD + 1TB mechanical hard drive support.
As we are dealing with a gaming laptop, it requires excellent fanning system. The heat dissipation area increased by 50%, while thanks to the stainless steel used in the grid it provides a 46% larger opening rate. There is also a 3 + 2 large diameter bold heat pipe that increases the thermal conductivity by 25%, while the metal ultra-thin turbine blades help the laptop to reach a maximum speed increased by 20%. There’s also a special TORNADO key that kicks in ultra-fast cooling by dropping the temperature by up to 3-5 degree Celsius within 10 minutes.
At last, the Xiaomi Gaming Laptop has 4 USB 3.0, one USB Type-C, a Gigabit Ethernet, and an HDMI interfaces.
In terms of pricing, the i7+16GB+GTX1060 is available at 8999 yuan ($1432), and the lower version (i5+GTX1050 Ti) is priced at 5999 yuan ($955).
