vivo Nex Series To Go Global Later This Month

VIVO NEX

Last month, Chinese manufacturer, vivo, announced the vivo NEX series which has vivo NEX S and vivo NEX A in its lineup. This smartphone was released in Shanghai, China and it comes with ultra-thin bezels and a pop-up front camera. Now, the company has announced that these devices will be going global later this month. The likes of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Russia, India, and Malaysia will be among the first set of countries to get these devices.

The major selling point of the vivo NEX series is its 86% screen-to-body ratio which is lower than the likes of oppo FIND X and notch screen Xiaomi Mi 8. Its pop-up front camera is also attractive and the onscreen fingerprint sensor of the NEX S has been used by only a few companies notably Xiaomi and Huawei. While the NEX S is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 845 chip, the NEX A comes with the new quasi-flagship processor, Snapdragon 710 which is found on Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

In China, vivo NEX A comes with a 3,998 Yuan ($605) while the NEX S 3,998 costs not more than 4,998 Yuan ($780). Generally, we expect to see some increase in these prices due to taxes and customs duties.

    price is just crazy
sliding camera is no way better than mix’s solution
there is no problem to rotate the phone when taking selfie, while sliding camera makes face unlock unusable

$700 USD for a Chinese phone with no support or warranty for US customers? LOL. Maybe at $400 people would take a chance. But the new Mix 3 looks better and cheaper.

Anywhere it goes it will be a failure at that price for a cheap made Chinese phone.
