The Meizu X8 is expected to launch alongside the Meizu 16 series flagships. The X8 will be the most affordable of the three smartphones. The latest leak takes us closer to the X8’s notch.
The X8 is going to be Meizu’s first phone with a notched display according to a previous report. The notch on this one, while minimal, will still be wide. As compared to brands like Vivo, the notch here is wide but not as wide as the iPhone X’s. Since this phone is not going to be a flagship, the presence of 3D facial recognition is out of the question. We know that the Meizu X8 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, currently, the favourite amongst manufacturers looking for a good price-to-performance ratio.
Jack Wong recently teased the pricing of the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus as well as the Meizu X8. It will reportedly be priced between 1500 to 2000 Yuan ($220-$296). A report from earlier confirmed the lack of any physical keys on the front. Navigation is supposed to be handled either by on-screen nav keys or a virtual mBack button as speculated. The Meizu 16, 16 Plus and the X8 are expected to be launched on the 8th of August, a day before the Note 9 launch. Stay tuned!
