Chinese Redmi Note 5 to get a new 6GB + 128GB variant tomorrow


Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 was announced back in February and comes in a number of colours and variants. However, Xiaomi’s popular handset is set to arrive in a 6GB + 128GB variant. Currently, the Note 5 has three versions – 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB. Xiaomi just put up a notice on its official Weibo page today that the unveiling is happening tomorrow.

The Redmi Note 5 was a major upgrade in the Note series with spectacular dual cameras that improved the photography by a huge margin. The rear has a 12MP + 5MP shooter with HDR, PDAF, and dual LED Flash. The selfie shooter is 13MP while that of the Indian variant is 20MP. If you’ve been following Xiaomi for the past year, you must be aware this is Xiaomi’s best budget device to date with the Snapdragon 636 SoC. It has a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display and a big 4,000mAh battery that runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUi. It isn’t yet known what price point Xiaomi will be selling the 128GB variant for , but following is the price of the other variants:

3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage 1,099 Yuan (~$173)

4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage 1,399 Yuan (~221)

6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage 1,699 Yuan (~$268)
