Huawei Mate 20 rumored specs mention in-display fingerprint, Android P and Wireless Charging

With the start of August, we’re just starting a new season for smartphone launches. This new chapter of the industry will be marked by the arrival of Galaxy Note 9 on this month, new iPhone units towards September, and the Huawei Mate 20 that is supposed to come during IFA 2018. Although we’re are, at least, two months before the unveiling of Huawei’s new phablet, the first rumors about the handset started to pop out.

According to these new rumors, the Huawei Mate 20 will bring much more than just a new Kirin 980 chipset. These reports indicate that the Chinese company will adopt the same strategy used with Huawei P20, and will introduce three handsets for the Mate line – Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Mate 20 Lite.

Gizchina News of the week

The standard variant of Huawei Mate 20 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, while the Pro version is rumored to feature a much larger 6.9-inch OLED panel. Moreover, the Pro variant is supposed to include the newest in-display fingerprint technology, while it’s unclear if the company will also give the same treatment to the regular variant of Mate 20.

Both handsets should also come with super fast Wireless Charging, and in order to achieve this Huawei should be changing the back of both devices to Glass. The standard variant should be equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the Pro should arrive with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. Last, but not least, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro should arrive in the market boasting Android 9.0 P, with EMUI 8.2 or perhaps EMUI 9.0 running atop.
