Motorola P30 Launched in China with Snapdragon 636

Motorola has made the P30 official via an event today that was held in China. This is Motorola’s first take at a notched smartphone or rather the iPhone X design. The phone is made for the mid-range market and has decent specs.

Motorola P30 Design

The P30 is made of metal sandwiched between glass. It looks premium for the price point. The notch on top of the display houses the front camera. The phone is equipped with facial recognition, but whether it is hardware or software based has not been revealed. The notch and the chin have almost the same amount of thickness. If not for the chin, the phone looks like an exact iPhone X replica from the front, albeit with a tad smaller notch. The dual cameras on the back are positioned in iPhone X style while the fingerprint scanner takes its place in the signatureĀ moto dimple. The 3.5mm jack sits on the top of the frame while the bottom frame houses the USB Type-C charging port, speaker and microphone grill.

Motorola P30 Specifications

The display is a 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ (2246 x 1080) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Snapdragon 636 takes care of the processing coupled with 6GB of RAM. There are two storage options, 64GB and 128GB. The phone has a hybrid dual sim slot so the memory is expandable. The front camera is a 12MP f/2.0 sensor with AI support. The back houses 16MP f/1.8 OV16B and 5MP f/2.2 OV5675 sensors. The P30 is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Motorola’s patented 18W fast charging tech that promises 8 hours of battery life over a 15-minute charge.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the P30 features a hybrid sim card slot, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, GPS and 3.5mm headphone jack.
