Vivo has now announced the Y97, a mid-ranger in China today. The key highlights of the handset are the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, a water-drop notch, and some stunning gradient colour finishes for buyers. The Vivo Y97 is priced RMB 1,998 and is up for sale on Vivo’s official website.
In terms of design, the Vivo Y97 looks like a twin of the V11 Pro that just launched a few days back in India. It comes in three Black, Blue and Rose Gold but the glass plating and gradient finish make it look more than just the usual colours.
The 6.3-inch display on the front is Full-HD+ with a 2280 x 1080 pixels and a 90.3 percent screen to body ratio. It rocks a MediaTek Helio P60 chip inside with clock speeds up to 2.0GHz. Furthermore, there’s 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is expandable to 256GB.
The Vivo Y97 sports a dual camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor placed vertically on the top left corner. Upfront, you’ll see a 16MP lens for selfies. The handset doesn’t feature a fingerprint reader and hence it employs face unlock which Vivo says identifies 1,024 facial points to give true security. There’s a 3,315mAh battery that powers Android 8.1 Oreo mixed with FunTouch OS.
The phone also comes with Dual SIM, VoLTE, and micro USB connectivity options. The price of the Vivo Y97 is CNY 1,998.
