Huawei teases Huawei Mate 20X, another powerful gaming smartphone

Huawei Mate 20X

A few days ago we heard the confirmation about the third variant of Huawei Mate 20 series to come alongside the duo of Mate 20 and 20 Pro devices. Due to the fact that the company has often released Porsche design variants of its flagships, we assumed that this could be the Huawei Mate 20 Porsche Design variant. However, a new tweet published by the company is teasing a brand new gaming smartphone to debut on October 16 – The Huawei Mate 20X.

Gizchina News of the week

The confirmation was attached to another teaser published by the Chinese Behemoth. The video in question teases a larger battery, and the presence of a new heatpipe that will avoid any performance throttling, thus improving the gaming experience. Apparently, the Huawei Mate 20X will be the company’s response to the likes of Xiaomi Blackshark, Asus ROG Phone, Razer Phone, and Nubia Red Magic.

This move can be considered “rather unexpected” since until the moment since no rumor or leak has pointed to the release of a gaming smartphone. As you might expect, there are just a few details about this smartphone. Apparently, the device will boast an enormous 7.21-inch OLED display with 2240×1080 pixels of resolution. The smartphone will be equipped with Huawei’s brand new Kirin 980, 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM. And a variety of Internal Storage variants ranging from 128GB to 512GB.

The Huawei Mate 20X should see the light of the day alongside the regular Mate 20 and the premium Mate 20 Pro variant. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Mate 20X also comes with the company’s GPU Turbo feature with a special version of Pie based EMUI.
