Android Wear OS “H” Update Brings New Power Saver Feature

Wear OS H Update

Google just released an update for the much requested – yet not largely used, at least in the entry-level market – Wear OS. The new “H” update (that’s how they call it) brings some interesting features which probably should have been implemented earlier, mostly because they’re about battery life improvement.

So, the compatible devices that already run Wear OS, will see four major improvements:

Gizchina News of the week

  • Battery Saver Mode Updates:
Watch’s battery life will be improved further by turning on Battery Saver to only display the time once your battery falls below 10%.
  • Improved Off Body Efficiency:
The watch will go into deep sleep mode to conserve battery after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Smart App Resume for all Apps:
You can now go back to any app where you left off.
  • Two Step Power Off:
You can now turn off your watch in just two steps. Simply hold the power button until you see the power off screen and then select ‘power off’ or ‘restart’, so kind of like any smartphone.

Please note that:

The update will be progressively rolling out over the coming months. Your device may not immediately be eligible for this update and will be determined by your watch manufacturer. Some functionality may vary by device.
