Huawei’s 20W SuperCharge Protocol (SCP) in the works

Huawei

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is one of the leading innovative companies from China and it is consistently working on new ideas. Some time ago, the company announced the massiveĀ 40W SuperCharge protocol which came with theĀ Huawei Mate 20 Pro and can fully charge aĀ 4200 mAh battery in one hour. However, the production cost of theĀ 40W charging protocol is quite expensive thus only a high-end smartphone can use this feature.

Now, there are speculations that Huawei is now working on aĀ 20W SCP which should be cheaper. According to a leaked document, theĀ 20W SuperCharge Protocol (SCP) comes withĀ half the amperage that the SCP Gen. 2 uses. On this protocol, we have aĀ 10V/2A charging capacity instead ofĀ 10V/4A. This will be perfect for mid-range devices and even some high-end smartphones. Next year, Huawei is expected to announce the Huawei P30 series but it is most unlikely that both smartphones will use theĀ 40W SuperCharge protocol. While the Huawei P30 Pro will go for the highest, the P30 might just settle for the 20W SuperCharge protocol if it is released in time.
