Sony Xperia XZ4 leaked screen protector confirms its weird 21:9 display

The smartphone industry is consistently evolving and we regularly see some sort of new stuff some of which becomes a trend and others are swept under the carpet. Recently, some stunning CAD renders showed that the Sony Xperia XZ4 comes with a weird 21:9 display ratio. Now, a new leak of the screen protector of this smartphone confirms its tall aspect ratio design. This leak was posted by @IceUniverse and this is a pretty reliable source.

With such a huge length, it will be super strange to have a notch or cutout on the front. The side bezels are thin and the chin is insignificant. Many users are still trying to accept the recently popularized 19:9 aspect ratio and we come with 21:9? There is no telling how the market will view this smartphone.

Gizchina News of the week

It is strange for Sony to place its fingerprint scanner anywhere but the side even though it used a rear sensor for the Xperia XZ3. The company is sticking with its norm by using a side (right) fingerprint sensor on the Xperia XZ4. In addition to the fingerprint sensor, the right side of this smartphone also has the dedicated camera shutter button, power button, and volume controllers. From the available leaks and speculations, the Sony Xperia XZ4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (there is no mention of 5G yet) coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64/256GB of internal storage. It will have a 6.55-inch display and will also boast of a triple rear camera setup. The lights of this smartphone will be kept on by a 3 900mAh battery.

At least 21:9 is a proper format for long time now. I still consider 16:9 the best for a smartphone.
