Huang Zhang on Meizu 16s: We can not afford to lose


Today, Huang Zhang, founder, chairman, and CEO of Meizu Technology gave some clue on the Meizu 16s price in the Meizu community. Netizens suggested that the Meizu 16s 6GB + 128GB version should sell for not more than 3299 yuan ($494), others said that it shouldn’t be more than 2998 yuan ($448). However, Huang Zhang responded, ” we can not afford to lose.” Though the CEO did not specifically state the price tag of the Meizu 16s, it appears that the suggested prices by netizens will place Meizu on the losing end thus his statement.

It is reported that Meizu 16s continues the Meizu 16th design with no notch and its display is a 6.2-inch screen while the Meizu 16s Plus screen size is 6.5 inches. Both flagships will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship platform, which is built on a 7nm process, using a new three-cluster eight-core architecture. In addition, Huang Zhang revealed that Meizu 16s and 16s Plus will be equipped with full-featured NFC, and Meizu 16s Plus supports wireless charging, which is the first SD855 flagship of Meizu to support wireless charging.

As for the release time, Huang Zhang said that Meizu 16s will be mass-produced at the end of March, listed in April, suggesting that it will be officially released in April.
