OPPO Reno with a side-scrolling front camera officially released

Today, OPPO held a press conference where it officially released the new Reno series. Although OPPO Vice President Shen Yiren had already exposed a lot of information before the press conference, the conference brought more details of this new machine.

OPPO Reno is equipped with a 6.6-inch screen which has a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio. It’s left and right bezels are 1.63 mm thin, the upper frame is 1.8 mm thin while the bottom bezel is 3.5 mm thin.  According to the company, OPPO Reno’s screen uses a new luminescent material, covering the full brightness DCI-P3 wide color gamut. With this, the power consumption is reduced by 8%. This smartphone passed the German Rheinland low-light certification which means that its safety is guaranteed. The display of this smartphone uses a Corning Gorilla 6 glass and the company stressed that the display comes with a low-brightness DC dimming feature.

In addition, the OPPO Reno is equipped with an on-screen fingerprint sensor and it uses a compensated projection scheme. OPPO Reno comes in two versions. We have the Standard version and the 10x hybrid optical zoom version.

The standard version has three variants –  6GB+128GB, 6GB+256GB and 8GB+256GB.  These smartphones sell for 2999 yuan ($447), 3299 yuan ($491) and 3599 yuan ($536) respectively. This version will be available in five colours (nebula purple, mid-night black, calm black, mist powder, and fog sea green) from April 19th.
