OPPO offshoot brand Realme is widely expected to announce two smartphones, the RealmeX and Realme X pro in China soon. The brand is expected to make some announcement relating to its China debut tomorrow at 10 AM (China time), however, we might not have to wait for that as JD.com has cleared the air about Realme product launch in China.

The leak from the online retailer is the latest in a string of leaks about Realme’s upcoming product and their launch date. Confirming previous reports, JD.com now has a product page for the upcoming Realme revealing the device will go on sale on May 15 – the same date that the phone maker is expectedly to take the wraps off the Realme X.

Gizchina News of the week

Earlier last month, it was rumored the Realme X would come in several variants – including the Realme X Pro, Realme X, RealmeX lite/ Realme X Youth edition, and while that remains largely unconfirmed, the listing on Jd.com suggest the brand will be launching the RealmeX and the Realme XYouth edition.

While it’s unclear what these devices will bring to the table, rumors have it that the Realme X will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC in different RAM/storage configurations including 6GB of RAM and 64GB, 6GB + 128GB as well as 8GB + 128GB storage. The leak also alleged that these variants will sell at CNY 1599 (approx USD 238 / INR 16,500), CNY 1799 (approx USD 268 / INR 18,500), and CNY 1999 (approx USD 298 / INR 20,500) respectively. As expected, the RealmeX is tipped to come with a notchless display with Gorilla glass protection, a 6th-gen in-display fingerprint scanner and of course a 48MP + 5MP dual camera setup

The online retailer prefers to still keep the technical specs under wraps, however, it is currently running a competition that begins today and ends on May 14. Winners stand the chance of winning a phone, a backpack, or a branded T-shirt.
