Huawei Mediapad M6 specs and renders surface, launches on June 23

While it’s all but confirmed that the Huawei Nova 5 series will debut on June 23, a new report suggests that there could be more than just the Nova 5, 5i and 5 Pro at the event. Rumors from a few days ago suggest the company might be working on two Android tablets -one of which might be the Huawei Mediapad M6 – the sequel to last year Mad M5.

That report has been confirmed by no other than Huawei itself. The company’s Tablet and Notebook Weibo account earlier today announced that the Huawei Mediapad M6 will arrive on June 23. The company, sadly,  hasn’t revealed more details about the said device, though we do know it will come packed with flagship grade specs.

Speaking of the Mediapad M6 details, reports say it will come in 8.4-inch, 10.7-inch  screen variant embedded in an aluminum body. Both variants are said to have a single camera with an LED flash on the rear panel. Leaked render seen below also suggest the device gets three pogo pins for connecting to a keyboard flanked by a speaker grille on both sides.

As expected, the volume control buttons, the power button, a USB Type-C port, MicroSD card tray, as well as the 3.5mm audio jack on the right-hand side. We are not sure what it will pack internally, though reports say the device will be powered by Huawei’s flagship Kirin 980 Soc, unlike previous models with dated SoC.

Both devices will come with 1600 x 2560 display resolution, while the smaller 8.4-inch tablet will get a 4200 mAh battery, and that goes up to a huge 7500 battery on the larger model. While we reported earlier that the M6 will get a Sony IMX586 48MP rear camera, a fresh report says it will come with a 13MP and 8MP sensor on the back and front respectively. The M6 is expected to arrive in Grey and Gold color options.
