This Wednesday, July 17, 2019, we celebrate World Emoji Day. The perfect opportunity for Google to present the 65 new ones that will come with Android 10 Q. The emojis are from the 2019 batch of Unicode consortium.
Some of the more noteworthy additions include a sloth, falafels, otter, diya lamp, garlic, waffles, service dogs, an orangutan, and a skunk. You can view all the additions in the image below. Google says it’s also included 53 gender-inclusive designs for emojis where Unicode hasn’t specified a gender.
Google explained in its press release. “With this update, emoji with no gender specified will default to a gender-ambiguous design on Android. But you can still choose between male and female presentations. If you want to opt into a gender.”
Otherwise, we continue in the momentum of last year with new combinations of skin colors, gender and emojis related to mobility for people with disabilities.
There are also new foods (butter, oyster, onion, soda, juice, waffle), additional animals (flamingo, polecat, lazy, chimpanzee), clothing and various objects such as a razor and an ax.
It is worth to mention that the beta 5 of Android Q is already available for the Google Pixel phones. And after the pause because of the numerous problems, it seems that everything has returned to normal. But there are many users who are reporting a major failure in the privacy section. According to the latest information, the applications have unrestricted access to the location at all times.
