Apple recently launched its third iteration of smart cases dubbed Apple Smart Battery Case for the all-new iPhone 11 lineup. This means that the owners of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max can now buy the smart cases from the brand. For those who’re unaware, the smartphone maker introduced the first-gen for iPhone 6s and iPhone while the second iteration was intended for iPhone XS lineup. Well, the brand is back with its smart cases for newly launched iPhones and here is everything you need to know about it.

As the name suggests, the smart battery cases will come packed with an integrated battery that can give you an additional power backup. The case will continue to charge your phone until the case itself runs out of battery. Your iPhone will then make use of its own battery backup. The Cupertino based brand is claiming a massive 50% additional battery life of the iPhone 11 lineup with this case. It is worth mentioning that the new lineup of iPhones already features an excellent battery life. Furthermore, you can see the battery percentage of the smart case by using the companion iOS widget on your device.
Unlike its predecessors, the next-gen Apple Smart Battery Case comes with a dedicated camera button on the right edge. Tapping on the button will click the picture while long-pressing will start the QuickTake video. You can fire up the camera application with the button even though the device is locked. In order to charge the case, you can use the USB-PD fast chargers with the lightning connector. Alternatively, the case also supports the Qi wireless charging meaning you can charge your device along with case at the same time.
Price, Availability
As mentioned earlier, the third-gen Apple Smart Battery cases are available for the entire iPhone 11 family. The case is available in three color options namely White, Black and Pink Sand for the Pro and Pro Max variant. On the other hand, the case comes in two color options namely White and Black for the regular iPhone 11. Coming to the pricing, all versions of cases come with the same price tag of $129.
