Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G (8GB+128GB) hit the shelves for $909


According to the official information from Huawei Terminal, Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G (8GB + 128GB) version will start pre-sale on December 12 for 6399 yuan ($909). The Mate 30 Pro 5G comes with Huawei ’s first flagship 5G SoC chip – the Kirin 990 5G. This chip has a large and small core NPU, DaVinci’s architecture, and a comprehensive AI computing power. In addition, the Kirin 990 5G supports both SA and NSA 5G dual-mode networking. It also supports 5G / 4G / 3G / 2G frequency bands of the three major Chinese operators.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro uses a 6.53-inch OLED display with an 88-degree curvature on the edges. It comes with a 3D depth sensor, ambient light, proximity sensor as well as a gesture sensor. It also uses a magnetic suspension sound instead of the conventional handset. This phone does not have a side volume button, however, it retains the long but narrow power button.

A special edge-operation controls the volume and vibration feedback. In addition, it also supports under-screen fingerprint technology. This smartphone is equipped with ultra-sensitive Leica quad cameras. It uses a 40MP dual main camera (ultra-sensitive camera + movie camera), an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 3D deep-sensing camera. This phone supports 45x hybrid zoom, 3x Optical zoom, OIS + AIS dual image stabilization. The battery capacity of Mate 30 Pro is 4500mAh and it supports 40W wired super fast charge and 27W wireless super fast charge.

    I kinda like the Mate 30 series but this device will fail to compete against the iPhone 11 and Galaxy Note 10 during the last week of Christmas sales. Both of those phones are selling under $600 (even less with trade in).

    I don’t think I can fully use a 5G phone in Canada for next 5 years. Everything is slow here. they need 20 years to build a small bridge. Data plan cost higher than any other so called developed country also .
