PS5 and Xbox Series X “will move people’s minds” according to EA

The giant of games EA (Electronic Arts) which is behind great hits such as Battlefield, Fifa and Star Wars: Battlefront shared how it evaluates the PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to them, what can be done on both platforms will “stir people’s minds”.

The statement was given during an investor meeting on EA’s third fiscal quarter, company leaders were asked about plans for the next console generation. Although EA has refused to give details about games, their optimism with the next generation is truly remarkable.

Gizchina News of the week

“The power of the new consoles will be substantially greater than that of existing consoles,” said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen. “We can do a lot more [with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X]! What we’re doing will move people’s minds.”

According to Jorgensen, there will be a lot of “innovation”, not just from EA but from the overall industry of games. In fact, not only with more sophisticated games but also with the creation of new genres. Technologies like ray-tracing will give a new level of depth to the scenarios with realistic light effects. Moreover, the use of SSDs will greatly reduce loading times that often breaks the immersion. With the next consoles, the industry can create new Open World games with a new level of realism.

Unfortunately, EA refused to share what types of games or experiences it is developing for the next-gen. The representative’s speech implies that the gap between the capabilities of the current consoles and those of the next generation will be even greater than previously believed.
