How much does it cost to manufacture the Xiaomi Mi 10? Here is the answer

How much it costs to make the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G? In China, the company asks $573 for it, and the price tag for the top version reaches $673. After the announcement of the flagship, a wave of indignation swept through the network about rising prices, because the new top-end smartphones are about $140 more expensive than their predecessors.

For its part, the company began to convince that the price tags were set adequately, many simply did not pay attention to the improvements that were suggested, which affects the increase in prices because of the used components.

What it Costs to Make the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G

The Techinsights website has made a teardown for the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G with 12/256 GB of memory in order to calculate the estimated cost of components. This type of operations are carried out usually for the flagships of Apple and Samsung, in order to find out the degree of greed of these companies. But the increase in prices for Xiaomi Mi 10 made us take a closer look at the cost of those components that were used here.

According to Techinsights, the manufacturing cost of the Xiaomi Mi 10 is $440. For comparison, the cost of the iPhone 11 Pro Max with 512 GB of ROM was $490.50, and in the United States it sold for $1,184.

Gizchina News of the week

When calculating the total cost of the device, of course, the expenses for its development, promotion, taxes and other expenses were not taken into account. Therefore, you should not think that when selling Xiaomi Mi 10 in China for $670, the company puts $230 in its pocket. It seems that Xiaomi do not make a lot of money from flagship sales and its margin is much more modest than other manufacturers.

I really want to purchase the Mi 10 Pro, but unfortunately, the international model is not released. Only the China domestic model. So, I guess I need to be satisfied with my current Mi Note 10 for the duration.

After my 2 broken mi 9 bought attractive price but further huge investments in it réparation, cause there were no company guarantee for that, on top problems with front camera, absense of details at repair shop and any answers from tech support of mi… I don’t know if I go with 10… Now having none of 9 working and just lying down and as back up using Motorola. Because actually mi9 seduced and convinced me to switch from my long lasting relationship with apple. At the moment I’m really hesitating despite almost daily news about tech improvements. What about customer care? Xander

They are worst mobile manufacturer who doesn’t care about mobile user’s privacy. It is the mobile that should be banned. Not the Huawei. Apple and Samsung are way better than this Mi guys. If you are true miui user, then you will definitely know about their cheap tactics.

I had to go with OnePlus 10pro because of the quality, value, service and the update schedule is the best.. I love Xiaomi products but my last one was a Mi mix 3.

Odd feedbacks. I’ve got a redmi 3, mi4i, 2x mi6 and recently an mi9. This is over the span of a number of years. All of them still work fine. I even abuse them, I’ve been using the older ones to monitor my PC’s hardware so they’ve had their screens continuously on for over a year!

It’s true apple will support you if you break your phone. But it’ll leave a bigger hole in your pocket than a new phone 😀 I know that not all repair shops are familiar with Xiaomi yet so… put a fat case around it. Alternatively, you can buy the replacement parts from AliExpress if you know what’s needed and provide them to the repair shop.
