Facebook is currently testing a new feature, allowing to share Stories both on the social network, and on Instagram.

Since 2017, Instagram users have been able to share their Stories directly on the associated Facebook account. Stories that are becoming more and more important, so much so that Facebook is thinking of offering another possibility of sharing.

Indeed, some Facebook users can now take advantage of a new feature, namely sharing their Story on the social network, and simultaneously on the Instagram network.

Facebook is testing the ability to cross-post Stories to Instagram

The test was spotted by reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong, who maintains a good reputation of discovering unreleased features for several mobile apps in recent times. Alexandru Voica, Facebook’s EMEA communications manager, also confirmed the test as part of the company’s effort to improve the way Stories work across apps, Wong revealed.

Just like the usual, cross-sharing your Facebook Stories to Messenger Stories and vice versa is there when sharing this type of content, along with other privacy options including public, friends, and custom to set with whom you would like to share your content. In addition, there’s a new toggle option for cross-posting your Stories to Instagram Stories. It also appears that this option applies to future posts as well.

While the company has already confirmed this testing, there’s no official word on when the social networking giant will introduce this new capability to the general public. Until then, you’ll have to settle with cross-sharing Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories only for the meantime.

It is worth mentioning that recently, according to American media, Facebook has developed a new machine learning model capable of detecting false accounts. Last year, this software would have removed more than 6.6 billion false identities on the platform. It’s a huge number.
