Redmi K30 Pro will be cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone, to launch in India as Poco F2

Redmi K30 Pro

Back in the last year, Xiaomi’s Redmi gave life to the Redmi K20 series. The duo of smartphones was composed of a premium mid-range variant and a flagship device. The latter was dubbed Redmi K20 Pro and practically filled the void left by the Pocophone F1. The 2018 smartphone revolutionized the market with flagship specs and a very affordable price tag. The Redmi K20 Pro came with the same concept. Now, Redmi is gearing up to launch a successor in the form of Redmi K30 Pro. It will repeat the affordable price tag and will be equipped with this year’s Snapdragon 865 SoC. But not only that, according to reports, it will be the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone available.

The information comes straight from the reliable Ishan Agarwal. According to him, the Redmi K30 Pro will be “one of the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phones or maybe even the cheapest SD865 smartphone”.

Furthermore, he states that Redmi’s current focus is on the price. For that reason, we should not put high expectations on other aspects of the smartphone such as the camera performance. Of course, the handset will come with adequate cameras, but don’t expect it to be on par with other flagships like Xiaomi’s Mi 10 and 10 Pro. Super-affordable phones usually have a few tradeoffs which can be in the type of display, the fast-charging technology, battery capacity, and camera performance.

The Redmi K30 Pro may launch as Poco F2

After a year of hiatus, Xiaomi decided to revive Poco as a separate brand. The first smartphone to come with new Poco branding was the Poco X2. In essence, it’s the very same mid-range Redmi K30 phone launched in China last year. Based on this, there’s a high possibility that the upcoming Redmi K30 Pro will launch in India as Poco F2. The Poco F1 was a highly-successful smartphone, and its fans are waiting for a successor.

A few days ago, it was reported that the Redmi K30 Pro will come with a starting price of around 2,999 Yuan (~$430). However, it could be even cheaper to grab the “cheapest SD865” phone title.
