ZenFone 7 teaser confirms flip camera’s comeback

ZenFone 7

The ZenFone 7 will be revealed the next week August 26. According to several reports, the company will unveil two smartphones this year in the form of ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro. The first is said to come with a vanilla Snapdragon 865, while the latter will ship with the SD865 Plus variant. The latter variant was spotted on GeekBench Benchmark today confirming a variant with 8GB of RAM and Android 10. So far, the handset is expected to come with very appealing hardware features, but what about the camera design? We are expecting Asus to make a comeback with its flipping concept as it will make these devices very different from other flagships that are satisfied with the punch-hole solution.

A Bezel-less phone with a Flipping Camera

Today, Asus has put all remaining doubts to rest! While the phone’s design still remains a mystery – something this is truly remarkable in this world of leaks – we’ve been waiting for the flip camera comeback. Today, Asus confirmed through a short video teaser that the ZenFone 7 series will indeed pack a flip camera module. The teaser is a short video with just 6 seconds. The company took to Twitter to make the big revelation. The video shows the front of the ZenFone 7 which is plains and does not have a notch or punch hole. So far, Asus did an excellent job by keeping the bezels at the bare minimum. The display may be the same Nano Edge Display found on the ZenFone 6. The video also shows the volume rocker on the right side of the handset.

Towards the end of the video, the words “Flip Deine Welt” appear on the screen. It translates to “Flip Your World”, teasing the device has flip cameras. The original tweet also has the hashtag #FlipDeineWelt. The official ASUS Global account has a slightly modified version of the video with the caption “Get ready to defy ordinary”. That caption is similar to the #DefyOrdinary campaign started with the ZenFone 6.

More details will likely keep coming in the coming days. We have just a few days before the launch of the handset. Hopefully, we will be able to see the phone’s design before its big reveal. Worth noting that the poster for the August 26 suggests a Quad-Camera setup. It still needs to be confirmed though. Moreover, we are curious to see what are the exact differences between the ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro.
