Xiaomi reveals details on the first MIUI version released 10 years ago

Xiaomi recalled that it has been 10 years since the release of the first version of the proprietary MIUI for Xiaomi smartphones. To date, Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones are already receiving version 12 of MIUI, and there are more than 330 million users of this user interface worldwide.

Today, the head of the company, Lei Jun, published an interesting fact from the history of Xiaomi on his Weibo page. On August 16, 2010, the first version of MIUI was officially released. The welcome screen that early adopters saw did not have any Xiaomi or MIUI logos. Instead, users saw the names of 100 people who took part in testing the first proprietary user interface for Xiaomi smartphones. Lei Jun added that in this way, Xiaomi initially publicly announced its desire to make the users as friends.

In fact, the first version of MIUI came out with the number V0.8.16, and it focused on three main functions, including SMS, contacts and phone calls.

At the moment, Xiaomi engineers are working to improve MIUI 12, regularly adding new features to it.

Last week, Xiaomi unveiled the flagship smartphones Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Redmi K30 Ultra, as well as unique transparent TV and a number of other products. and here is a reminder of the full specs of the latest Xiaomi flagship smartphones:
