OnePlus crossed an important door in 2020. Now, the company is more than just a company that produces premium smartphones. Now, it is ready to start competing in the multiple segments we have in the smartphone market. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the OnePlus Nord. Back in the last month, we got the confirmation that Nord stands for a smartphone lineup of mid-range devices. The company unveiled the OnePlus Nord N10 5G with the Snapdragon 690 5G and a budget device dubbed OnePlus Nord N100 with the LTE-only Snapdragon 460.
Now, both smartphones are giving important steps to extend their availability. Apparently, OnePlus is aiming at an Asian launch pretty soon. Among the target markets, we obviously have India, since it’s one of the OnePlus strongholds. While the company is yet to make an official statement regarding the Asia launch, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G has passed by Singapore’s IMDA certification with OnePlus BE2029. A couple of days ago, the device passed through Thailand’s NBTC certification. Worth noting, that its smaller brother the Nord N100 also passed through some certification authorities, which confirms the launch of both devices at the same time.

It’s unclear if the OnePlus Nord N10 5G will also make way to India like its smaller brother. After all, the market already has the cheapest OnePlus Nord and even a variant with 6GB / 64GB that can’t be found in any other market. If the N10 5G comes to India, then you can expect it to become one of the cheapest 5G phones available in the subcontinent. Of course, the device may also hit other countries in the Asian market. It’s an affordable way to join the OnePlus ecosystem which includes OxygenOS!
OnePlus Nord N100 5G specifications
The OnePlus Nord N100 5G is slightly below the original Nord in terms of specifications. But if it comes with a less appealing chipset, it does impress with an improved camera sensor. Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 690 5G, which is the first 5G-enabled chipset to join the SD600 family. The device flaunts a 6.49-inch LCD with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. This display has OnePlus 2020 very characteristic left-aligned punch-hole. It comprises a 16MP selfie shooter.
Moving around to the back, we have a 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and two 2MP sensors for macro and depth shots. The device brings 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Unlike the original Nord, this one brings MicroSD card support, something that wasn’t common among OnePlus devices. The device also has a 4,300mAh battery with a very satisfactory charging rate of 30 Watts. The device brings Android 10 OS with OxygenOS 10 and has a rear-side fingerprint scanner. For now, the device is only available in Midnight Ice Blue color. Hopefully, the company will introduce more colorways in the future. It sits on a $412 price tag, but it will probably be priced below that if it reaches India.
We’re just a couple of days before the end of the year, so we’ll probably hear more about OnePlus plans for the duo of mid-range phones in the coming weeks.
