The Indian Government is further endorsing its campaign against China in a kind of “cold war”. In the latest advancement, the government added 43 more Chinese apps to its growing list of banned applications. If you’re a fan of Aliexpress, then we bring you bad news. The popular e-commerce platform from the Alibaba group is now banned in the country. The list also introduces other Alibaba group apps like WeTV and MangoTV as well as some dating applications and games.
According to India, the new apps are blocked under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The government states that they are flagged as prejudicial to the sovereignty, security, and integrity of India. The new addition expands the list of banned Chinese apps in India to 267. Now we can consider this a huge list of apps.
The previous list of blocked Chinese apps in India included 118 apps in total and among them, PUBG Mobile. This is one of the most popular games in mobile smartphones and one of the most popular battle-royale games in the market. The game is developed by Tencent, a Chinese conglomerate of gaming studios. The Indian government action against PUBG generated a huge backlash from players. Now, the game is slated to make a comeback to the Indian market. However, we don’t know if other blocked apps will receive the same treatment. We believe that the Aliexpress ban will also generate a wave of criticism in the country.
