Huawei Mate 20/20 Pro/20 X will no longer receive monthly/quarterly security updates

According to Huawei’s official website, a couple of Huawei flagships are no longer on the EMUI security update support list. This means that these smartphones will not get monthly/quarterly security updates anymore. The phones include Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and Mate 20X. In addition, all Huawei P20 models are not on the monthly/quarterly security update list. This means that the security update time and update cycle of these mobile phones are different. However, these devices will still get security updates not just often anymore.

As of now, only the 5G version of Huawei Mate 20X is still on the list. However, the non-Chinese models of Huawei Mate 20 Lite will still get quarterly security updates.

The Huawei Mate 20 series was released in 2018 with Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor. This is a 7nm chip that has 2 x 2.6GHz A76 super large cores, 2 x 1.92 GHz A76 large cores, and 4 x 1.8GHz A55 small cores. This series of mobile phones comes with a 24MP front camera. The Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X models use a 40MP Leica certified rear camera. In addition, they get up to 40W fast charging.
