In these days of isolation moved by the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been adopting some basic sports activities such as walking to compensate for the time spent without activities. Apple has just introduced a new way to make this activity more interesting for owners of its Apple Watch smartwatches. This week, the company is bringing a feature called Time to Walk. It is available to all users who have subscribed to the Fitness+ program. Apple has been working on multiple services across its products and Fitness is one of these programs that is getting a good amount of users every month.
The new Time to Walk feature comes with narration and favorite playlists by celebrities such as Dolly Parton and Shawn Mendes. The company will add new episodes with guests every week until the end of April. All the previous episodes will be stored in the Workout app of the Watch. So if you lose any, you can hear it later.
Every new episode comes with a guest’s personal moments and lessons learned, meaningful memories, and various thoughts. The narration will be accompanied by photos that appear on the screen of the Apple Watch. Moreover, there will be a short playlist of songs that gave the celebrity motivation and inspiration. It’s a nice feature to keep Fitness+ users motivated while they are on the go.
Apple Watch users can enjoy Time to Walk feature through AirPods or Bluetooth headsets
Owners of the Apple Watch can enjoy Time to Walk feature, but they will need to connect their AirPods or other compatible Bluetooth headphones. Episodes will have a total range between 25 to 40 minutes and appear automatically in the Fitness+ tab of the Workout app. Once users download the episodes, the Wi-Fi and Data Connection will no longer be necessary.
The new feature combines celebrity-curated playlists and guest podcasts. The mixture will help users to enjoy their walking periods. But can also be useful for other kinds of exercises. Of course, if you don’t care for celebrities, influencers, and anything related to that, you’ll probably not care for this new feature. Anyway, it will be exclusive for the Fitness+ feature. This service is available only in six countries and is exclusive for Apple users.
Apple has been working hard to make its wearables more useful for people that care for their health. According to rumors, the new Apple Watch Series 7 will introduce blood glucose monitoring. It will make the device even more important for users that have a fitness lifestyle.
