Realme GT 5G reservations exceeded 1 million ahead of launch

Realme GT 5G

Realme ended the last year as the fastest-growing smartphone brand. For 2021, the brand wants to start its journey with style through the release of the Realme GT 5G. This handset is the long-rumored Realme Race, set to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and other competitive specifications. Today, Realme’s VP revealed that the flagship will cost less than $465. This makes the device one of the best and more affordable chances of getting a Snapdragon 888-powred smartphone. Now, a new report reveals that the handset already reached over 1 million units in reservations. The device will go official in China on March 4.

Realme GT 5G specifications

Worth noting that reservations don’t often translate to sales. However, in this particular case, we expect similar figures. The Realme GT 5G probably will be a hot-selling smartphone due to its price and pack of specifications. Under the hood, the phone will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. Of course, we are expecting other memory configurations. The $465-priced variant will probably have less RAM and Storage. After all, the 12GB/256GB combo at this pricing point would be shocking. The company’s CMO Xu Qi had earlier disclosed that the Realme GT 5G will not come in a 6GB + 128GB storage version. Hence, we expect a second model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage.

The Realme GT 5G will also pack an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and an underneath fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the device will have a 3D tempered liquid cooling system, stereo speakers, linear motors, and other impressive features. Thanks to TENAA certification we also know that the handset will bring a Triple-Camera System with a 64MP primary camera. The other sensors probably are an ultrawide snapper and a telephoto module. The Chinese authority also confirms a battery with a 4,880mAh battery. Despite previous leaks suggesting 125W UltraDart charging, 3C certification revealed that it will have just 65W fast-charging. This still is enough to charge the battery from 0 to 100% in a couple of minutes. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack which is absent in most premium smartphones.

The Realme GT 5G will be the first flagship unveiled by Realme in 2020. The brand will also launch a camera-centric flagship in the future with a MediaTek platform and probably a 108MP camera.
