Alleged OnePlus Nord N20 (EB2103) passes by IMDA certification

The last year was quite important for OnePlus since it marked the company’s entrance in the mid-range and entry-level segments. The company formerly now a premium-related smartphone brand brought back its affordable appeal through the OnePlus Nord lineup. Besides the original OnePlus Nord which launched in July with Snapdragon 765G, the company announced a more affordable OnePlus Nord N10 with Snapdragon 690 5G SoC. The N10 was released in October alongside its entry-level sibling the OnePlus Nord N100. The device had certain downgrades in comparison to the original Nord, but that made it much more affordable and accessible. According to recent leaks, OnePlus is already preparing a successor for this smartphone, which may arrive as OnePlus Nord N20.

OnePlus Nord N20 passes by IMDA certification

An alleged OnePlus Nord N20 has passed by the IMDA certification with EB2103 model number. This is the very same smartphone with codename Ebba that has passed by the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) website, hinting at an imminent launch. Considering that OnePlus brought its 2021 flagships a little bit earlier, then, it may also bring new mid-range smartphones much earlier than October. This time around, we expect the OnePlus Nord N20 to appear alongside the OnePlus Nord (OnePlus Nord 2, Or Nord N2) which will land before July.

Gizchina News of the week

The OnePlus Nord Ebba (EB2103) was spotted on the IMDA website by the popular tipster Mukul Sharma. Unfortunately, IMDA is not a very revealing website. However, tipster Steve Hemmestoffer aka OnLeaks already posted a couple of render images revealing the design of the rumored smartphone.

Judging by the leaked images, we know that the handset will bring back the glossy back of its predecessor. It will have a metal frame that is 8.4mm thick. Moreover, the handset will carry a triple-camera setup which we assume has a primary sensor with 64MP and an ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, the device will flaunt a 6.49-inch display. It’s a flat-screen with a punch-hole on the top-left corner. We’re not expecting OnePlus to change to AMOLED with this device. So it may come with a LCD panel offering up to 120Hz refresh rate.

Just like its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord N20 will carry a 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner will be moved to the side doubling as a power-button. For now the chipset behind this smartphone is a mystery, we expect a Snapdragon 750G at the very least. After all, the device needs to be an upgrade in comparison to the last year’s model. However, there always some rumors pointing to the inclusion of a MediaTek Dimensity chip. For the time, being we keep believing on OnePlus exclusive partnership with Qualcomm.
