ZTE Axon 30 5G Launched In China

ZTE has launched the Axon 30 5G in China, and the company is touting it as a device with a “next-generation under-display camera.” The smartphone adopts a new technology that delivers an unparalleled full-screen experience. Moreover, the phone will go up for sale in the country with various RAM and onboard storage configurations.

Chinese users will be able to choose between two eye-catching color options. Aside from that, the phone will house four rear-mounted cameras, and pack the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood. According to the Chinese tech company, the smartphone will be launched globally soon. Earlier this month, the TENAA certification website listed a ZTE phone with model number A2232, which was widely believed to be the Axon 30 5G.

The ZTE Axon 30 5G phone runs on the latest Android 11 OS. It sports a 6.92-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) resolution, and a cinema-grade aspect ratio of 20.5:9. Furthermore, the display offers an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. On July 27, ZTE revealed that the phone supports intelligent display optimization and intelligent pixel enhancement with the help of an independent screen display chip.

Furthermore, it uses three unique processing technologies and features seven layers of material that are highly transparent. In its announcement, ZTE revealed that the screen has passed through three eye-protection certifications. The Axon 30 5G will ship with 12GB of RAM and offer a hearty 256GB of onboard storage capacity. The phone uses memory fusion technology to utilize the free storage and expand it as up to 5GB of RAM.

In the photography department, the Axon 30 5G features a quad-camera setup at the back. It houses a 64MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.79. Moreover, the rear-mounted camera module has an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120-degree field of view support, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. According to ZTE, the camera comes with dual-way video stabilization support from the primary and wide-angle camera to reduce shake when you are shooting a video. Upfront, it has a 16MP camera with pixel-binning technology and an f/2.0 lens.

The phone’s 4,200mAh battery supports 55W fast charging. It has a triple ice cooling system that includes a composite material derived from graphene copper, high power thermal gel, and a mammoth VC liquid cooling plate. In terms of connectivity, it offers a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and 5G. The phone weighs 189 grams and its dimensions are 170.2×77.8×7.8 mm.

Price & Availability In China

Axon 30 5G is currently available in green and black color options. The 6GB RAM+128GB ROM model will set you back CNY 2,198 ($338) in China. The slightly larger 12GB RAM+256GB ROM model retails for CNY 3,098 ($476). The first sale will start on August 3. The company has confirmed that the phone will be launched in the global market. However, it didn’t reveal pricing or availability details.
