Yesterday, Xiaomi executives had a “face-to-face meeting” with netizens. According to Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s new smartphone and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will commence warm-up from today. Furthermore, he confirmed that there will be a launch event on August 11 or 12 this year. Of course, the “new smartphone” is the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. This is the first time that a Xiaomi executive is confirming the arrival of these devices.
The information so far reveals that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will come with under-screen camera technology. This technology completely hides the proactive camera below the screen. This is also Xiaomi’s first mass-produced model with an under-screen proactive camera. Also, Xiaomi will be the second company globally to mass-produce this technology after ZTE.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi Pad 5 speculations
In terms of configuration, in addition to the Snapdragon 888 Plus, the MIX 4 should come with a 50MP main camera. This smartphone will also support a 5000 mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. It is worth noting that this device will be the very first Xiaomi’s smartphone to come with the company’s 120W fast-charging solution. So far, most of the company’s flagships have only 67W charging tech. But that will change with the MIX 4. The 120W charging is just a characteristic that further affirms the Mi MIX 4 as the company’s second 2021 half flagship. This device is likely to come with highly appealing curved edges and a 6.6-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It will also feature Micron’s LPDDR5 uMCP. The device’s 3C listing indicates that it will offer 70W or 80W wireless charging support as well.
As for the Mi Pad 5, the series will launch three models including a high-end, mid-range, and low-end model. The high-end version uses the Snapdragon 870 processor, the mid-range version will have the Snapdragon 860 processor, and the low-end version will come with the Snapdragon 7 series or Dimensity 1200 processor. This tablet will have a 2K resolution screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, it will have a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, 4096-level touch, and In-Cell active pen technology. This tablet series will come with an 8750 mAh battery capacity that supports between 30W and 67W fast charging. The high-model will have a faster charging capacity than the Lite model. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will also use a 10.9-inch IPS panel. In the camera department, this device will come with a 12MP main camera while the Pro version will use a 48MP sensor.
