Honor has started its journey as a separate brand earlier this year. However, we can say that the Honor 50 series were the determinant step to declare the company’s independence from its former owner. The vanilla Honor 50 and the Honor 50 Pro were available in four colors at launch, however, Honor seems to be preparing a fifth option dubbed “Honor Code”.
What is so special about this new edition? It features the letters of “HONOR” scrambled randomly on the back. The colors of the background and the letters shift depending on the angle of the light reflecting off them. The device also comes with a matching wallpaper pre-loaded. The limited variant will cost the same as the standard one. Therefore, the vanilla smartphone starts at CNY 2,700, and the high-tier Honor 50 Pro costs around CNY 3,700. For now, you can only reserve a spot in the queue, the proper launch is set for September 3 at 10:08 Chinese time.
The Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will get their “Honor Code” models very soon. However, only 1,500 units will be produced for each of the models. They come with a matching protective case, the pre-orders for the Pro version also include a free pair of headphones. Worth noting, that the Honor 50 SE will not receive this “Honor Code” colorway.
