Oppo to announce ColorOS 12 tomorrow: UI changes at the system level

Today, Oppo officially announced that it will release some details of its new ColorOS tomorrow. From the poster, the new ColorOS detail is ColorOS 12. Furthermore, we can see that the App picture in the poster shows some design changes. According to previous reports, ColorOS 12 will make significant design changes at the system level. Oppo released ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 in September 2020. It is speculated that ColorOS 12 should be launched after Android 12 is officially released this month.

ColorOS 12

Earlier in July, Oppo revealed that the system team is already testing ColorOS 12. At the time, the report shows that the UI design changes are relatively large, which is worth looking forward to. According to the previous statement, ColorOS 12 will support the “cross-screen interconnection” function, and Windows devices will support close and immediate connection, cross-device file transfer, and other functions.

ColorOS 12 will be official on September 13

According to previous leaks, the Color OS will arrive on September 13th. According to a post on Weibo, Oppo’s AI Assistant Breeno revealed the exact date and time for ColorOS12 reveal. The assistant gave the exact date and time of release when asked, “When will ColorOS12 be released?”. According to the image shared by the tipster, the next version of ColorOS is all set to be released on September 13 at 3 PM (GMT + 8). However, later the response was changed to “coming soon, please stay tuned”.

Gizchina News of the week

Maybe Oppo has intended to reveal or at least let users know about ColorOS 12 through Breeno. But apparently, the company is yet not confident about that date. The only problem is that someone forgot to remove the information from Breeno. Anyway, this pretty much will cease existing rumors suggesting ColorOS 12 announcement for this month. September makes more sense as Google will make its move releasing Android 12 before the second half of the month. We expect most of the smartphone makers to start unveiling their Android skins soon after the rollout for Pixel smartphones.

ColorOS 12

ColorOS 12 should implement some of the features introduced by Android 12. However, we’re not expecting a big change following Material YOU guidelines. Some subtle UI features may be present like the Wallpaper-based colors and etc. Oppo will also introduce its own set of changes with its next upgrade. According to rumors, ColorOS 12 will bring a similar feature to Huawei’s Multi-Screen Collaboration. The feature will carry ColorOS Cross-Screen Interconnection. Initially, this system will only be available in China. However, it will subsequently roll out globally for other users.
