Xiaomi has introduced plenty of Mi 11 smartphones already. Namely, we have the Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11X, and Mi 11X Pro. In a couple of weeks, the company will add the Mi 11T variants to this portfolio, and there is a new Lite variant as well. According to reports, Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce a new device dubbed Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, or New Edition, which follows the company’s new strategy of removing Mi branding. Furthermore, this device has appeared on multiple certifications websites revealing some key specs and features in the process. Therefore, we can expect the device to hit the market very soon. Apparently, Xiaomi is a target in India for this initial launch.
According to a report from 91mobiles, Xiaomi is planning to launch the upcoming smartphone in India this month. The report states that the company will start teasing the new device in the coming days. That said, the exact launch date is yet a mystery. However, if the report is true, we may head more about the devices in the next weeks.
Interestingly, the smartphone has passed through several certifications. It has the codename LISA and was certified by IMEI certification under the name Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. The same model also passed through the Bureau of Indian (BIS) certification, which hints at its launch in the country. Furthermore, the device sports model number 2109119DG and has appeared on the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) website.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE alleged specifications
Unfortunately, not much is known about the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE at the moment. However, recent leaks suggest that the new smartphone will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G. This chip is a solid upgrade over the last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 768 and SD750G chipsets. In addition to the new chip, the handset is said to come with an AMOLED display with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. We can expect triple or Quad-Cameras, at least 30 W fast-charging, and at least a 4,500 mAh battery.
The new Xiaomi Mi 11 5G NE will likely come with Android 11 OS straight out of the box and MIUI 12.5 on top. For now, the launch date is unclear, but we can expect an unveiling for late this month. In the next few weeks, we believe Xiaomi will be busy with its Mi 11T launch.
