We have been hearing rumors and seeing leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE for quite some time. Most of these rumors were pointing to a release between September and October but that didn’t happen. As per reports, Samsung had several troubles with the manufacturing in light of the chips shortage, and with the Galaxy S22 release nearing it has decided to skip the device, at least for a while. Earlier this month, reports pointed to a delay for the Galaxy S22 series, and that delay has given green light for the Galaxy S21 FE release. Now, the reputed tipster for Jon Prosser has the launch dates for both handsets.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21 series much earlier than usual. Rather than picking the February / March window, the company brought its new smartphones in January. As a result, we were expecting their direct sequels to appear in the same month next year. But with the crisis in the semiconductor industry, delays have become common. Now, a new report points to a release in February, one month after the Galaxy S21 FE appears at the stage.
Galaxy S21 FE coming on January 22, Galaxy S22 series comes one month later
The new tip comes from the very reliable Jon Prosser. The tipster was also the first to reveal the iPhone 13 series release for September 14. Now, he states that Samsung will host two Unpacked events at the beginning of 2022. The first one will take place on January 4. However, this one will come to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE in all its glory. The specs will be pretty much what we’ve been seeing in the leaks, and in other words, very 2021-flagship-esque. The second event will happen on February 8 and will be bigger. It will serve to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S22 series made of the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra.

Based on the report, the Galaxy S21 FE will be available for purchase on January 11. The Galaxy S22 Unpacked event will start at 10 AM ET time and Samsung will open pre-orders as soon as the keynote ends. The general availability will start from February 18. We suggest you digest this with a pinch or two of salt, as Samsung is yet to confirm these facts. Anyway, we don’t expect the brand to send out invites for the S21 FE release before mid-December, and the S22 series launch date won’t be confirmed before January 2022.
Anything can change in the coming weeks, especially with the ongoing crisis in the semiconductor market. Until January 2022, we’re sure that Samsung will have a lot of Galaxy S21 FE units ready for purchase. However, we don’t know how things will evolve with the Galaxy S22 flagships that will depend on the unreleased Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 SoC.
