The premiere of Xiaomi is scheduled for December 12. Now there are three predictions of when a new product can launch: December 12, December 16 or December 28. There is also a prediction that a compact version will debut simultaneously with the flagship. Only Xiaomi knows for sure how this model will be called. Insiders, for their part, call it Xiaomi 12 Lite, Xiaomi 12 Mini or Xiaomi 12X.
Xiaomi 12 is credited with an AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and FullHD + resolution, a new generation optical fingerprint scanner, a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip, a 20-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor. The screen will be curved on all four sides in the manner of the matrix in the Huawei P40 Pro. The battery capacity will be 5000mAh, with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 12X should offer a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display here can also be curved from all sides, not just the sides. The power of fast wired charging will be limited to 67 watts, and the smartphone will be charged wirelessly at 33 watts. Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X should offer symmetrical stereo speakers and the latest proprietary MIUI 13 shell.

According to leaks, Xiaomi 12 launch could take place on December 28
Recently, there have been more and more rumors about the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones, which will be launched in December. It has been suggested that the new items will be presented in mid-December, however, according to a fresh leak, the launch event will take place just before the New Year and, probably, the Xiaomi 12 will not be the first smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
A screenshot of an internal Xiaomi document has been posted on the Chinese social network Weibo; according to which the company will hold a new product launch event on December 28. The base 12 and the affordable flagship 12X are expected to be unveiled on that day. Reputable tech blog Digital Chat Station has also confirmed that the company’s new smartphones will launch at the end of next month. This could mean that the Xiaomi 12 will not be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device; losing that title to Moto Edge X.
According to the leaks, the Xiaomi 12X will be based on the Snapdragon 870; while the Xiaomi 12 will receive the latest Qualcomm flagship platform. Both smartphones are expected to feature AMOLEDs with curved edges, Full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The Xiaomi 12 will get 100W fast charging, while the Xiaomi 12X will boast 67W wired and 33W wireless charging.
