Recently surfaced Lenovo patent images suggest that the Chinese tech company is gearing up to launch a laptop that can accommodate a tablet. If this speculation proves to be true, the latest offering from Lenovo will appeal to laptop, as well as tablet users. The Lenovo patent, which is filed at the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) was originally spotted by 91mobiles. The company’s newfangled design can effortlessly house a tablet device.
Moreover, the housing appears to be more than a mere placeholder to store tablets. In other words, the tablet might actually be a part of the complete product. Furthermore, the patent drawings suggest that the unique laptop will be an enterprise device, and it will target business. However, the laptop and tablet can have multiple use cases.
Lenovo Laptop Patent Images Leaked
If the aforesaid patent images are anything to go by, the Lenovo laptop will sport a rectangular display like most laptops. Aside from that, it has a front-mounted keyboard. However, the most notable feature of the Lenovo laptop is a slit on the side of the display to accommodate a tablet. Regrettably, details about the exact size of the tablet it can house are still scarce. Nevertheless, it separates the Lenovo laptop from the rest of the offerings in the market. One of the leaked Lenovo patent images suggests that users will be able to pull the tablet out of the laptop to use it as a standalone device.
This feature can come in handy for taking notes. The laptop, on the other hand, can be simultaneously used for attending meetings. Moreover, Lenovo filed the patent application back in June. However, it was published on December 30, last year. The patent claims that the system is capable of including a tablet computer. Aside from that, the system includes a clamshell computer along with its keyboard and a display housing. It also accommodates the hinge assembly that rotates to unify the keyboard and the display.
Other Key Details
Moreover, the patent description reveals that a tablet computer recess is placed between the side of the display and the rear side that can be removed to get the tablet computer. However, it is still unclear whether this unique Lenovo laptop will see the light of the day, given that the design is currently in the patent stage. Nevertheless, It will be interesting to see Lenovo transforming the design into a commercial product. In the meantime, the company is gearing up to unveil its Legion Y90 Gaming Phone. Lenovo recently shared the gaming smartphone’s rear design on its official Weibo account.
