The Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones’ launch date, pre-order, and announcement have been tipped. The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming Galaxy S22 series has been subject to multiple leaks for quite some time now. The word on the street was that Samsung will be unveiling the S22 series at the recently concluded CES 2022. Earlier this month, the company took the wraps off the Galaxy S21 FE, which arrived in India this week.

In the meantime, the rumor mill has been churning out speculations surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup’s launch date. According to rumors making the rounds online, the Galaxy S22 series smartphones will see the light of the day in February. Now, a fresh piece of information from Samsung’s home country of South Korea reiterates the past leak. Aside from that, it reveals details about the lineup’s exact launch, release dates, and when will they go up for pre-order.

If a report by DDaily is anything to go by, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones will launch on February 8, 2022, at the company’s Unpacked event. Moreover, this launch timeline allows the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE to tighten its grip on the market. The report also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is set to go on pre-orders starting from February 9. Furthermore, the report claims that the Galaxy S22 smartphones will start shipping from February 21, and hit the store shelves on February 24.

Aside from that, the phones will be available in several eye-catching color options. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are likely to come in White, Rose Gold, Light Blue, Grey, Green, Black, and Beige color options. The latter will also be available in a Violet color variant. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, will be up for grabs in highly appealing color options like Phantom White, Phantom Black, Green, and Burgundy.

Specifications (Expected)

As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have been floating around the rumor mill for a long time. Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones’ specifications resurfaced online, this time, courtesy of noted leaker, Zaryab Khan. The Samsung Galaxy S22 will sport a 6.06-inch LTPS display with FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the screen is likely to adopt a punch-hole design. However, the Galaxy S22+ will have a slightly larger 6.55-inch screen, but use the same LTPO panel and offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, will sport a mammoth 6.81-inch LTPO AMOLED display that delivers a 120Hz refresh rate. It will probably have a punch-hole cutout in the center. The phone could come with a layer of Corning Gorilla Victus on top. Moreover, it will reportedly feature HDR10+. Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset, along with a competent Adreno GPU. However, the Indian model is likely to ship with an Exynos 2200 chip, up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, and offer 512GB UFS 3.1 expandable storage.

Other Key Details

The lineup could run Android 12 OS with OneUI 4.0 custom skin on top. Furthermore, they will be offering several connectivity options like a USB Type-C port, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE, and 5G. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will reportedly draw its juices from a 5,000 battery with 45W fast charging. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are likely to draw their juices from 3700mAh and 4500mAh batteries, respectively. For optics, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ could house a 50MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle unit.

However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will probably feature a 108MP SuperClear lens, along with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a couple of 10MP telephoto units that offer 3x and 10x zoom, and support OIS. Aside from that, the phone is likely to use a 40MP front shooter for selfies and video calling.
