Vivo is quietly developing its upcoming flagship series under the Vivo X80 series. While it does not come, the company is focusing on entry-level and mid-range smartphones for the beginning of 2022. So far, the company already launched around seven smartphones, with the Vivo Y55 5G, Y21e, and V21a being some of the most recent smartphones. Now, the company is adding one more device to the count dubbed Vivo Y75 5G. The device brings significant improvements over its sibling, the Vivo Y55 5G.
The fact is that the Vivo Y75 5G isn’t an all-new smartphone, but it’s based on a Vivo Y55 5G. The device brings a better selfie camera, more RAM and as result, Vivo gave it an entirely new name. Without further ado, let’s see what this handset has in tow for the market.
Vivo Y75 5G specifications
The Vivo Y75 5G flaunts a 6.58-inch Display which is a common spot for Vivo low-end devices. It’s a standard LCD that refreshes at 60 Hz. Moreover, it boasts a Full HD+ resolution with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and has a waterdrop notch for the 16 MP selfie snapper. The selfie camera alone is twice the resolution offered by the Vivo Y55 5G. Moving on, the device is another of Dimensity 700-powered smartphones.
Gizchina News of the week
The Dimensity 700 probably figures as one of MediaTek’s best-selling chipsets in the 5G range. It’s super cheap and offers two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz plus six power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz. The phone comes with 8 GB of RAM on board, and through Vivo’s virtual RAM feature, you can extend this to 12 GB of RAM. It will take a portion of your internal storage, which is 128 GB in this case. The device also has a micro SD card slot allowing for further memory expansion by up to 1 TB.
In terms of optics, the device has a triple-camera array. The big and most usable camera is the 50 MP camera. It is aided by 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth sensors. Of course, users will count with the features offered by the FuntouchOS 12 which is still based on Android 11 in this handset.
The Vivo Y75 5G ships with a 5,000 mAh battery that draws its powers from a USB Type C port at up to 18 W. You can also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for password-less unlocking. The Vivo Y75 5G comes in Starlight Black and Glowing Galaxy colorways. The device is now available through Vivo’s Official Indian website and some of its partner retail stores. The device is being sold at INR 21,990 ($290/€260).
