Apple continues to lead the global smartphone market – StrategyAnalytics


The latest report from StrategyAnalytics shows that in Q4 2021, the wholesale revenue and average selling price of the global smartphone industry will increase by 6% and 9% year on year, respectively. Furthermore, for 2021, the wholesale revenue and average selling price of smartphones willĀ also increase by 15% and 10% year-on-year, respectively. In terms of brands, Apple maintains its lead with a higher revenue share from last year. Samsung is second while Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo are third, fourth, and fifth respectively.

Apple Classical, an independent classical music app

Apple recently launched the latest Android beta version of the Apple Music app. The code hidden in the beta version may suggest that the company will launch an independent classical music app. In 2021, the Cupertino company acquired Primephonic, a classical music streaming company, after which Primephonic shut down on September 7, 2021. It appears to have started making plans to improve its current Music service. There are indications that it will launch a classical-specific music product in 2022.

9to5Google has discovered a string of code in the beta version of Apple Music for Android. The codes suggest the service may be called “Apple Classical”. The existence of the code could also suggest that the service may be rolling out soon. Of course, it’s also possible that “Apple Classical” is just a codename. The actual official name may be different at launch.
