The Huawei Mate Xs 2 smartphone will launch in Malaysia later this month, along with two more Huawei products. Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced the foldable phone’s launch date in a Weibo post last month. The company’s second-generation foldable device went official on April 28. Notably, the Mate X 2 was launched two years after the Mate Xs. Now, it looks like the foldable device will land in Malaysia as well in the coming days. The Mate Xs 2 is teeming with awe-inspiring surprises.

To recall, the much-awaited Huawei Mate Xs successor is exclusively available in China. However, this could change soon. As per a report by Amanz, Huawei is prepping to launch the Mate Xs 2 in Malaysia on May 19. Notably, Huawei Malaysia will be hosting an event on the aforesaid date. However, the company will be unveiling only flagship products at the impending event. Huawei Malaysia arranged a premiere launch event for the following day. The company will take the wraps off the Huawei Watch Fit 2, and the Watch GT 3 Pro at the event.

In other words, Malaysia will be one of the first countries to receive new Huawei products. Huawei will bring the new foldable device into the global markets as well. The company could announce its global availability at the flagship product launch event. This event will take place on Thursday, May 18 at 8 pm Beijing Time (UTC +8). Morever, you can watch the live stream of the launch event via Huawei’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. The Malaysia Premier Launch for Huawei products will kick off at 5 pm MYT on May 19. The company could announce promotions and roadshows for its products during the event.

To recall, Huawei’s premium foldable smartphone was launched in China last month. The device folds outwards unlike mold foldable phones that fold inwards. Oppo’s Find N and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 come with conventional inward folding screens. It sports a 6.5-inch OLED display in folded form. The screen expands to a 7.8-inch OLED with 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution when unfolded. Moreover, the display offers a 120 Hz refresh rate. It delivers a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. Also, the screen is capable of covering 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Under the hood, the phone houses a Snapdragon 888 4G chipset. This processor pairs with up to 12GB of RAM. Furthermore, the phone ships with 512GB of onboard storage. The standard Huawei Mate Xs 2 packs a 4600mAh battery. However, the Collector’s edition has a larger 4880mAh battery. Nevertheless, both variants support 66W fast charging. It houses a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP primary sensor. Upfront, there’s a 10.7MP ultra-wide-angle selfie camera.
