Realme To Start Manufacturing Laptops & Tablets In India By Early 2023

Realme will start manufacturing its laptops and tablets in India soon. The company is sparing no effort in making its products locally. Realme is one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brands. It also garners skyrocketing popularity among Indian consumers. Now, Realme wants to tighten its grip on the Indian market.

Realme has teamed up with KHY Electronics to facilitate local manufacturing. Realme will be manufacturing audio products in Noida, India. Moreover, the company will collaborate with more Indian contract manufacturers. It will launch a slew of wearable and hearable ecosystems in India, as per Madhav Sheth.

Sheth is Realme’s VP and chief executive officer. Realme wants to start manufacturing tablets and laptops locally by early 2023. So, it is in discussions with three prospective partners. Sheth told ET that the company has invested INR 26.7 crore. It will manufacture one product with KHY. He confirmed that Realme will launch more products in India.

Realme To Start Manufacturing In India

As per Sheth, Realme will launch 6 to 8 products in the aforesaid category. These products will launch before this year ends. The company wants to expand its manufacturing capabilities in India. So, it could team up with three likely partners. Sheth predicts that Realme’s manufacturing ecosystem will create more than 1000 jobs. Realme smartphones are made by Oppo. DBG Technology and Wingtech Mobiles make smartphones for Realme.

Videotex and Bhagwati make smart TVs for Realme. The brand wants to locally manufacture 300,000 units of hearables. It will makes the products by 2022 end. Realme’s partner boasts a total capacity of 3.5 million. This capacity is across product categories. Sheth says that consumers are purchasing higher lifestyle products. Affordability is what makes them choose Realme products.

What Else To Expect?

Realme had a significant growth in the smartwatches segment. Sheth claims that consumers want more than just a health/fitness tracker. He believes the journey for audio and wearables has started in India. Realme wants to manufacture its products locally. So, the brand will expand the ecosystem. It is searching for more partners for wearables and audio.
