Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, is currently working on the successor of the Xiaomi 12 series. Although we are yet to see the Xiaomi 12 UUltra, there are already speculations regarding the launch of the Xiaomi 13. According to a recent report out of China, Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will debut in November. This means that the chip will arrive a month earlier than in previous years. The reports also claim that Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is based on TSMC’s process and adopts a new “1+2+2+3” eight-core architecture design. Compared with the “1+3+4” architecture of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the former has an extra-large core and a small core is missing.

Not only that, Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 super-large core and large core have been upgraded. The super-large core is upgraded to ARM Cortex X3, two large cores are upgraded to Cortex A720. This chip also has an extra two large Cortex A710 cores while the GPU upgrades to Adreno 740.

There is no doubt that this will be the most powerful mobile phone chip in the Android camp. Furthermore, the expectation is that the running score will reach a new high. Also, the industry expects high-end flagships like the Xiaomi 13 series to use this chip.

Xiaomi 13 series to arrive early

If Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 arrives in November, then the Xiaomi 13 series may launch ahead of schedule. Popular Weibo tech blogger @DCS claims that the Xiaomi 13 series is progressing very quickly. Thus, the series will probably launch ahead of schedule. However, while we look forward to the arrival of the Xiaomi 13 series, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will launch in the coming weeks.

Since the Snapdragon 888, Xiaomi usually launches its digital flagship in the same month as Snapdragon’s new flagship chip. Over the past two years, the launch month has been December. However, with Qualcomm set to speed up things, Xiaomi will most likely do the same.
