iQOO surprised its fans by revealing it is preparing a new iQOO 9T smartphone for release in India. This came as a surprise due to the imminent arrival of the iQOO 10 series. The most intriguing fact is that both the iQOO 9T and iQOO 10T series will bring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. We can only assume that the iQOO 10 series will be exclusive to China for a few months, and the iQOO 9T comes to fill the gap and offer something beyond the iQOO 9 series. The device will bring Qualcomm’s most compelling chipset to date, but the company did not reveal any further detail about it. Thankfully, we have the leaks that come to clarify things.
iQOO 9T key specifications
A new source comes to reveal the iQOO 9T will come with a “segment-first 120 Hz Samsung E5 AMOLED display”. The market already has a couple of smartphones with Samsung E5 panels, so we’re curious to see what this “segment-first” really means. Anyway, the leak also confirms 120 W of fast charging. Furthermore, the device will bring Vivo’s Custom V1+ chip that boosts the camera’s AI capabilities. The same chip is available on the premium and camera-centric Vivo X80 Pro. The iQOO 9T will bring a 50 MP GN5 snapper, and we assume the other snappers are ultrawide and a portrait shooter. As per the leaks, the ultrawide module is a 13 MP shooter, while the portrait module is a 12 MP unit. The device will come with Real-Time Night Extreme Night Vision.
As per the leaks, the iQOO 9T will bring a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. The phone will bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of Internal Storage. Unfortunately, the battery capacity is unclear but we assume it sits between 4,500 and 5,000 mAh. Of course, iQOO will play with the amount that can handle its 120 W charging system. The device will likely bring FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 12 to India. Among the software features, we can expect the fancy virtual RAM.
